Dr. Sadhbh Joyce

Expertise: Workplace mental health, psychological resilience, neuropsychology, mindfulness and self-compassion strategies

Sadhbh (pronounced Sive) is an illuminating speaker, imbuing mental health topics with insight, clarity and compassion. She draws upon a rare mix of expertise. A psychologist, researcher and workplace mental health expert, Sadhbh is also the co-founder of Mindarma, a specialist provider of mental health training and resources. 

Passionate about prevention, Sadhbh conducted world-first research at the Black Dog Institute/UNSW, examining how to enhance psychological resilience and protect mental health. She translated this research into an evidence-based online program, which is now used to support many thousands of Australian workers. 

Sadhbh holds a PhD from UNSW and a Master’s degree in Clinical Neuropsychology. She is an External Research Fellow with the Black Dog Institute/UNSW Medicine and has published extensively in peer‑reviewed journals. Sadhbh is also a trained meditation teacher and has specialist expertise in mindfulness‑based interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and self‑compassion approaches. Her contributions to the field have been recognised with the Australian Psychological Society Significant Contribution Award for translational research, along with multiple national awards for Mindarma. Sadhbh credits her rural Ireland upbringing with an ability to take on difficult tasks with practicality, persistence and a healthy dose of humour. Sadhbh provides keynote addresses, workshops and skills sessions addressing a wide range of topics, including psychosocial risk management, mindfulness and self-compassion practices, burnout prevention and strategies to support workers in high-risk occupational groups.
